Injectable Fillers
Facial filler by Dr. Damico
Each type of filler available at Skin Care Fort Worth serves a specific purpose. The best kind of filler for your lips may not be the same as the best kind of filler for your cheeks! With over 15 years of injecting experience, Dr. Damico expertly chooses which filler to use to achieve the results you’re looking for.
Natural-looking filler results
“One syringe” refers to 1ml of filler. Did you know that one teaspoon is equal to about 5ml? This might help you to have realistic expectations for your filler treatments. Some patients are concerned that one syringe will make them look “over-done,” while others may expect only one syringe to address everything- their lips, cheeks, chin and jaw!
Really, neither expectation is accurate. Sometimes, one syringe of filler has the power to make a beautiful, natural-looking result, especially in artistic hands! Other times, multiple syringes are needed to make a noticeable difference. (Dr. Damico does not offer half-syringes.)
Juvederm® Family of Fillers
Dr. Damico considers the Juvederm® family of fillers to be his “work horse” collection. He has over a decade of experience listening to what his patients want and using the Juvederm® collection to address a wide variety of his patients’ concerns. These are Dr. Damico’s fillers of choice when filling lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, laugh lines, “smoker’s lines”, forehead and temples.
How Dr. Damico uses the Juvederm® Filler Collection
The most popular fillers among Dr. Damico’s patients are by far Juvederm® Voluma™ and Juvederm® Ultra Plus. These fillers are best for creating plump or sculpted results, like for the lips, cheeks, chin and jawline.
The other fillers in this collection are Juvederm® Volbella™, Juvederm® Vollure™, and Juvederm® Ultra. These particular fillers are less about creating sculpted results and more about smoothing out your skin by adding volume, whether it be for smoker’s lines around your lips or for laugh lines, which are sometimes called “parentheses”, around your mouth.
Juvederm® ranges in price from $650 to $800 at Skin Care Fort Worth. The filler that you need depends on the area you want to get treated. Dr. Damico will also choose which filler to use based on your goals and the qualities of your skin. Estimated prices for popular treatment areas are listed below.
- Lips: $650
- Cheeks: $1600+
- Chin: $800
- Jawline: $650+
- Laugh lines: $650+
- Smoker’s lines: $650+
- Forehead & Temples: $800+
Though we are moving away from the “per syringe” mentality, these are the prices per syringe of filler at Skin Care Fort Worth:
- Voluma™: $800
- Juvederm® Ultra Plus: $650
- Juvederm® Ultra: $650
- Volbella™: $650
- Vollure™: $650
Filler for under the eyes
Tired of looking tired, even when you aren’t? Dark circles and hollows underneath your eyes can make you look exhausted and aged. Belotero Balance® (or simply “Belotero®,” as we call it) is Dr. Damico’s filler of choice when it comes to under-eye treatment.
Tear trough filler at Skin Care Fort Worth
At Skin Care Fort Worth, Dr. Damico requires patients to have a consultation before agreeing to treat the tear trough area with filler. Unfortunately, filler under the eyes is not a good treatment option for everyone. If you describe the area under your eyes as “puffy” or “baggy”, it’s possible that your best option might actually be surgical correction (aka “bleph” or “blepharoplasty”).
After you and Dr. Damico decide that using filler is the right path for you, you can then make a future appointment to receive treatment. When Dr. Damico is done, you will have immediate, natural-looking and feeling results!
At Skin Care Fort Worth, the cost of your under-eye treatment done by Dr. Damico will be approximately $800.
Individual results may vary, but results with Belotero® may last about 6 months or more. Dr. Damico’s patients commonly experience longer-lasting results, sometimes even lasting up to two years. Receiving a maintenance treatment at the one-year mark often optimizes Dr. Damico’s patients’ results.
Your treatment will begin with Dr. Damico numbing the area by injecting lidocaine. Many patients describe a small pinching sensation with the numbing shot, but say they feel no pain or discomfort for the rest of their treatment time!
Dr. Damico uses a cannula (instead of a needle) to make you more comfortable and to help protect the area under your eyes from bruising. We can never guarantee that a filler treatment will not cause bruising, but the cannula does help. You may consider taking an over-the-counter supplement called “arnica” which can help avoid bruises as well. Afterwards, you can enjoy your new, refreshed, bright-eyed look!
In Dr. Damico’s experience, filler other than Belotero® may cause a “tyndall effect.” This means that other fillers might possibly magnify purple, red and blue hues under your eyes rather than hiding them.
Belotero® is created with a unique formula which avoids this complication. For this reason, Dr. Damico only uses Belotero® under the eyes.
Radiesse® for face and hands
Of all the stories your hands can tell- your age doesn’t have to be one of them! The most notable treatment done with Radiesse® at Skin Care Fort Worth is hiding the tendons and veins in your hands, as it is the only filler that is FDA approved to correct volume loss in hands. This is one of Dr. Damico’s favorite treatments.
Other Radiesse® Treatment Areas
Dr. Damico may also decide to use Radiesse® for these treatment areas:
- nasolabial folds
- marionette lines
- downturned corners of the mouth
Nasolabial folds are the lines that begin to either side of your nose and go down to the corners of the mouth. “Marionette lines” are the lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth to your chin, chin wrinkles, and “pre-jowls.” For some patients, Radiesse® is an ideal choice for bringing more defined contours to the cheeks, chin, and jawline.
For facial treatments with Radiesse® at Skin Care Fort Worth, Dr. Damico offers Radiesse® starting at $750.
Radiesse® is FDA approved for both your face and hands. Radiesse® for hiding tendons and veins in your hands is $1500 per treatment (total cost for both hands).
Radiesse® is clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients. Some patients may wish to schedule a maintenance appointment to keep up their optimal results.
The special formulation of Radiesse® serves two purposes:
First, it provides instant correction of wrinkles, folds and hollows by filling out the skin and producing a rounded, more youthful look.
Second, it triggers natural collagen production, which further restores lost volume and revitalizes skin that has lost its beneficial collagen to environmental damage and age. It is for this reason that Radiesse® is considered more than a dermal filler, it is also referred to as a bio-stimulator.

Important Safety Considerations and Information Regarding Dermal Fillers
The best way to avoid complications from a dermal filler treatment is to go to an experienced and certified cosmetic injector. Dr. Damico, who has provided cosmetic treatments in Fort Worth for over 15 years, takes the risks and complications of filler treatments seriously. In some cases, he may reserve the right to deny treatment if he believes the risk for any given procedure is too high.
Contraindications for treatment with dermal fillers:
Patients who are using medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin, warfarin, or certain vitamins and supplements, may experience increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site. You may wish to discuss current medications with your personal doctor before receiving treatment if you are on any of these medications.
The safety of dermal fillers for use during pregnancy or in breastfeeding people has not been established. Dr. Damico does not provide any injectable aesthetic treatments to breastfeeding or pregnant people.
Possible side effects:
Possible risks of treatment with dermal filler include bruising, redness, swelling, itching, and pain. Any foreign material injected into the body creates a possibility of swelling or other local reactions. These symptoms are usually mild and last less than a week but can last longer.
You may be able to feel the fillers in the area where you were injected, and there is a risk that small lumps may form under your skin due to fillers collecting in one area. Dermal fillers, as with any filler material, may move from the place where it was injected.
The above list is not meant to be inclusive of all possible risks associated with hyaluronic acid fillers or dermal fillers in general, as there are both known and unknown side effects and complications associated with any hyaluronic acid fillers or dermal filler injection procedures. We make every effort to avoid complications. Anyone experiencing any adverse side effects is advised to call us immediately (24hrs day/7 days wk) at 817-738-9268.
